Her dress was pretty as we took detail shots. But then she put it on. You could just feel the air being sucked out of the room as we all collectively said, "Ah." That's one of the hardest part of being a wedding photographer. Not getting caught up in the moment. And there were several moments at Jackie and Adam's wedding where I found myself being swept away. Take the venue, Mitas Hill Vineyard. Set in the rolling hills outside of downtown McKinney, you couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting. Rain showers threatened throughout the day, and yet the bride and groom calmly moved the wedding inside, where they had a beautiful ceremony. The cocktail hour remained outside while the venue quickly transformed the ceremony into the reception site. What a beautiful day for two people who love wine so much, not only did they have a vineyard wedding, they also chose to spend their honeymoon frequenting the vineyards of California.
